Sun Moon Lake Remote Service @ Mingtan Elementary School

"I said, MOON TO THE MOON"
"I said, MOON TO THE MOON"
"I said MOON, TAKE A ROCKET, TAKE A ROCKET TO THE MOON!"

From the very first chant of the day, the students of Mingtan Elementary School filled English Camp with their musical voices, energetic bodies, and an incredible sense of fun.

Their energy carried the whole day of space-themed activities. First graders leaped out of their chairs to form the "sun", "moon", and "stars" with their short arms. They stretched up high when they heard "tree", paddled vigorously for "boat", and cupped their faces for "flower", while playing games like Teacher Says and Mother May I. Older students also rushed around their classroom, going from planet to planet in a race to collect the vocabulary words "sun", "moon", "lake", "mountain", "bike", and "fish".

The students' creativity shone as they brought their own constellations to life with paper cups and flashlights, designed their own flying rocket boats, and assembled silly aliens with multiple heads and legs.

We even enjoyed a space-themed snack: edible constellations and Oreo phases of the moon!

At the end of the camp, students of all ages came back together to create a beautiful space landscape with their creations.

As a teacher, I am so grateful to the students for joining us in learning and having fun together. I'm grateful I had the chance to collaborate with other ETAs and learn from them, to see the hard work of our support staff, administrators at Mingtan, and our advisers come to fruition, and to enjoy all this surrounded by the natural beauty of Sun Moon Lake.

We love you, Mingtan Elementary!
