In Changhua, we have plenty of community service opportunities for you to participate. You can join anything from local marathon/events volunteer to ETA/ETF host club, or/and meeting with other people all over the communty.

Our Experience

We went to the 2ed handed Toy Factory to help clean toys and check that they were in working order for anyone around Taiwan who needed it.

Provided English tour portions of the Running Water Festival. Bus shuttles took visitors from the Ershui train station to the nearby elementary school.

We designed and painted a mural at a local Mexican restaurant - Taqueria. It took several months to complete it. (From February to June) We went to the store after school or when we had time.

We went to Changhua Girls Senior High School for sharing the movie “Barbie” and discussed toy experiences from childhood, role models, gender expectations under different cultures, and music life.

Wrote an original 20 minute musical adaptation of MULAN for 5th graders to perform, led music, dance, and staging rehearsals

I engage in two hour meetings where we practice public speaking through Cultural Exchange. There are members from around the world where we each follow a particular cultural theme/topic set for that meeting and create talking points and presentations to facilitate discussion. Afterwards, there are awards presented for the best table topics speakers/presenters of the evening.

Co-hosted an English Book Club with Annie C. Our members ranged from college students to working adults, and we started reading The Little Prince together.

Helping out at an animal shelter: walking dogs and cleaning cages

 I volunteered at the Changhua Christian Children’s Hospital in Changhua City. Since it was the holiday season, the three of us brought in art supplies and made Christmas cards with the children who were visiting the hospital. Upon completing their cards, the kids were awarded small goody bags
