Cycling Trails

Cycling is a popular way to enjoy weekends with friends and family in Taichung. There are more than 10 cycling routes now. In many of them, you could enjoy the rice paddies in different seasons.

Dakeng Hiking Trails

There are 12 hiking trails (Trail No.1~5 are connected; and trail No.6~10 are linked, and 5-1, 9-1) in the Dakeng scenery area. Most of the trails are for leisure hiking, but some could be quite steep and  challenging (No.4)!

Guguan 

Located just 90 minutes away from the city center, there are mountains over 3,000 meters high surrounding the valley.  It is a hub for pleasant winds, murmuring streams, gushing hot springs, and mountain hiking trails for adventurers.

Mazu Pilgrimage (9 days 8 nights in lunar March)

One of the Intangible cultural heritage in Taiwan. The believers travel with Mazu from Dajia Jenn Nan Temple to Feng Tian Temple in Chiayi County non-stop.

Rock in Taichung

Since 2008, it’s a highly anticipated annual music festival that features over 60 bands from across Asia and more. You could enjoy various rock music from pop-rock to heavy metal. The event also brings more independent musicians to an international spotlight and celebrates a wide variety of rock genres.

Jazz Festival

At the Festival, you can see the top jazz musicians from all over the world. Local people invite friends to picnic on the grass field of the citizen plaza and enjoy the relaxing music and the breeze at the beginning of autumn.
