  • The local coordinators will find and rent apartments in advance so you will have a place to live upon your arrival.

  • When you arrive, you will have an apartment to stay in. During the August training, you will find out which school you will teach at, and then you will move into the assigned apartment by the end of Augus

  • Yes, ensuring your safety is our priority, particularly during your first year in Taiwan. We firmly believe that having fellow grantees accompany you enhances both safety and support. Therefore, FSE will arrange an apartment for you with 2-3 roommates.

  • For certain sites, senior grantees (second or third year ETFs) may have the option to secure their own housing, subject to specific conditions. In most cities and counties, the local coordinators will arrange housing for you in advance, as it can be challenging to find apartments independently in these areas.

For ETAs and first-year ETFs, your safety is our priority, especially during your initial year in Taiwan. We believe having a cohort accompany you enhances safety and support. Hence, FSE will arrange an apartment for you with 2-3 roommates.

  • The host family project we have is more of a "cultural exchange project". Rather than living with the host family, grantees and host families will peer and participate in a meeting event so they can get to know each other. On weekends or during some festivals, the host families might invite you on a family trip or dinner.

  • Renting apartments that allow pets in Taiwan can be challenging, so we advise against bringing pets unless absolutely necessary. Additionally, bringing pets into Taiwan entails navigating strict policies, which are your responsibility to manage. Please note that this falls beyond the scope of our and coordinators' duties.
