Fulbright Taiwan provides you with 2 one-way economy-class air tickets between your home and Taiwan including an international flight and a domestic flight if it’s needed. The flight tickets must be arranged (booked) by Foundation for Scholarly Exchange (FSE). Travel expenses between your home and an airport in the United States are not covered by the grant.
In late May, you will receive an email with Flight Instructions. Please explain to us if you cannot fly from the U.S. due to any special circumstances. FSE will let you know the next steps to arrange your flight ticket to Taiwan if your case is approved. Please note, if the airfare is higher than the address on GA to Taiwan, grantees are responsible for the fare difference.

ETAs/ETFs are required to arrive in Taiwan by August 1st. If any unforeseen circumstances cause a delay in your arrival, you must send an official request email with supporting documentation to the Admin email address. As your grant is funded by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and local governments, we are obligated to report your situation to them and determine whether to approve your late arrival. Additionally, please note that your participation in online school visits and selecting your school preferences is crucial for determining your school placement for the grant year. Furthermore, missing the August orientation will result in a stipend reduction at a daily rate since the MOE and local government will issue your stipend based on the arrival date shown on your boarding pass.

FSE arranges flights for grantees to arrive in Taiwan on August 1st to facilitate group pick-up. If your flight schedule necessitates arriving a day earlier, FSE will book a hotel room for you. However, if your early arrival before August 1st is due to personal reasons, you will be responsible for covering accommodation expenses.
Please note that you are required to meet us at Taoyuan International Airport along with other grantees in the early morning on August 1st.
