What did Taichung ETAs do in January?

There are so many outstanding foods that represent Taiwan. This year, ETA's Taichung life officially started with the yánsūjī (Taiwanese fried chicken) welcome party.

Through the team challenge of district map and Taichung facts, ETAs got to know each other better and the basic knowledge of the second-large-population city in Taiwan.

Besides the full training schedule, Taichung ETA got chances to enjoy the lunar new year atmosphere in Taiwan. ETAs visited the oldest temple in Fengyuan to experience Taiwanese local beliefs and the beauty of architecture. And we also celebrated the new year in advance with the elders in a village community in Daya. Grandmas and grandpas were so lovely and welcomed the visitors from American; ETAs prepared a self-introduction in Mandarin and a simple dance tutorial of "Hokey Pokey" and "Macarena." Even a grandma in a wheelchair enjoyed dancing with ETAs!

The most memorable thing is, under the guidance of a grandma, ETAs were able to make rice balls, and eat the self-made rice balls soup; it was a great wish for a perfect and peaceful year.
