Youth Model United Nations Event

青年模擬聯合國

On October 17th and 18th, Dr. Randall Nadeau, the Executive Director of Fulbright Taiwan, led the TEFL advisor, Megan Gilmore, and 13 ETAs (English Teaching Assistant) to join the Youth Model United Nations Event in Taichung. ETAs are invited to be the observers, who can enhance international communication among the students.

The Youth Model United Nations is a United Nation’s Simulation Conference that aims to inculcate the skills of public speaking, diplomacy, and negotiation skills among the Youth. There is a total of 330 high school and university students participated in this event to broaden students’ horizons and boost their global competitiveness.

Fulbright Taiwan 學術交流基金會執行長Dr. Nadeau (那原道博士) 帶領英語教學顧問Megan Gilmore (古玫恩) 以及13位英語協同教學助理 (ETA) 參加台中市於10月17、18日所舉辦的「2020台中市青年模擬聯合國」。ETA首度受邀擔任觀察員，為增進學員間國際交流。

臺中市今年首度舉辦「青年模擬聯合國」活動，盼藉聯合國組織運作及各項議事工作之模擬實作，促進學子主動參與國際事務、鍛練理性思辨能力、及培養領導能力；此次活動共計330名高中、大專院校學生參與，經過兩天的活動，希望能拓展台灣青年國際視野及全球競爭力。
