Overview of Taoyuan
Location
Taoyuan is surrounded by New Taipei City, Yilan County, and Hsinchu County. "Taoyuan" literally means "peach garden" in Chinese, since the area used to have many peach trees. Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) is also located in this city. Taoyuan City is home to many industrial parks and tech company headquarters. Since commuting to the Taipei metropolitan area is easy from Taoyuan, and its advantages of relatively low cost of living, Taoyuan has had the fastest population growth recently.

Taoyuan has a humid subtropical climate, with mild to warm winters and hot summers. The average temperature in summer is around 32-25°C, and as for winter, it is around 23-16°C.

Hello, my name is Shelley. This is my second year as the EMI program coordinator. I enjoy eating and trying different foods. I studied sports and leisure management at school, but the only sport I enjoy is pillow mountain climbing (which means napping). Even though I've been in Taoyuan for about 5 years, I believe I'm as unfamiliar with it as you are, so please don't ask me what's enjoyable in Taoyuan since I don't know about any activities around the area lol.
